{James Arthur was born 1844 in Ontario to William and Mary Sarah. By the 1880s the McCoy clan had moved to southwestern Manitoba.

This Indenture Witnesseth that being of all Sound Mind but weak in body

That I make this my last Will and Testament

2nd That I first want my Just debts And Funeral expences paid

3rd That I Will and bequest all the residue of my estate real and personal to My Sister Mariah Catherine McCoy to her own proper use and benefit forever

4th That I nominate and appoint the Said Mariah Catherine McCoy My Sister Now of Winnipeg Province of Manitoba my Sole Executrex to the Said Estate

To Wit ] in the Province of Manitoba, Yeoman

1. Make oath and say: That I knew the within Testator James Arthur McCoy of the Third Township in the Eight Range west of the Principal Meridian in the Province of Manitoba, Yeoman, deceased, in the within Will described and signing as James McCoy.

2. That on or about the Tenth day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight - hundred and eighty I was present and did see the said James Arthur McCoy sign, seal and declare the within will as and for his last will and Testament at his residence in Third Township in the Eight Range West aforesaid.

3. That I, this deponent and Robert Owens of the Township and Range aforesaid, yeoman, (who was also present at the same time and witnessed the execution of the said will as aforesaid) did subscribe our names as witnesses to the execution of the said will at the request of the said Testator, in his presence and in the presence of each other.
